A 33-year-old man in Florida was arrested last week after he allegedly stuffed a woman into the trunk of his Jaguar, beat her with the brass knuckle handle of a knife, and left her in the woods.

Drew W. Davidson was taken into custody on Friday and charged with one count each of kidnapping and second-degree aggravated battery with a deadly weapon, court records reviewed by Law&Crime show.

According to a probable cause affidavit, officers with the Titusville Police Department in the early morning hours of May 10 responded to a call about an assault at a residence in the 4000 block of Ivanhoe Drive, which is about 50 miles east of Orlando, Florida.

The victim told authorities that she and Davidson went out drinking on the night of May 9, and returned to the aforementioned address at about 11:30 p.m. She claimed that Davidson “gets very aggressive when he drinks,” saying that after arriving home, they got into an argument, though she was unsure what they argued about.

As Davidson became increasingly angry, he allegedly walked the victim outside to his red 2012 Jaguar and “forcibly abducted” her “against her will” by “shoving her into the enclosed trunk of the Jaguar,” police wrote. He then drove the victim to the nearby Salt Lake Wildlife Management Area in Mims, Florida.

“After arriving, he took the victim out and began beating her with a ‘brass knuckle’ knife which had a blade coming out of the knife handle, which was in the shape of brass knuckles,” the affidavit states. “The victim suffered injuries including swelling, abrasions, and a puncture wound to the back of her neck. The victim claimed she was in fear for her life and thought she was going to ‘die’ and leave her child without a mother. The defendant then drove away in the Jaguar, leaving the victim in the wooded area.”

The victim then made her way back to the residence on foot and got her cellphone. She then called a friend to pick her up at about 2:40 a.m., police said. Davidson was asleep in the residence at the time she arrived.

The victim also showed police text messages she received from Davidson in which he allegedly wrote “I f—ed up,” “I’m so sorry,” “I hope you can forgive me,” and “I have so much hate built up inside me because of my fam.”

Medical personnel treated the victim, who had suffered multiple scuffs, scrapes, and abrasions on her chest and neck, along with a swollen face and eyes. Police also noted that she had a “fresh open puncture wound on the back of her neck.”

In an interview with police, Davidson denied harming the victim and said the apologetic messages were only in regard to the argument.

Authorities also noted that Davidson had an active warrant out for grand theft and presenting a false insurance claim.

He is currently being held in the Brevard County Jail without bond and is scheduled to appear in court on May 30 for his arraignment.
